Everything you'd ask at the front desk.
New to Pilates, new to the valley, or just want to know where to park. Start here.
Before your first class
I've never done Pilates. Where do I start?
Either room, depending on what you'd rather walk into.
Mat is the simplest way in. No equipment to learn — your body, a few props, and an instructor watching. Book any All Levels mat class and go.
Reformer has a short learning curve, because the carriage and springs take a few minutes to understand. That's what Intro to Reformer is for: a one-on-one session on safe setup and use of the machine, with nobody else in the room. Or take a group class and tell the front desk it's your first — your instructor will set you up before it starts.
Neither is the beginner option. Most members end up doing both.
What do you teach besides Pilates?
Strength and sculpt, yoga heated and not, meditation, and sound bowl sessions. All of it runs in the mat room, on the same schedule as mat Pilates.
The Super Pass and Summit Pass cover every modality under one membership. The reformer and mat tiers cover their own room.
What do I need to bring?
Grip socks and water. Grip socks are required in the reformer room for safety, and we sell them at the front desk if you forget.
Bring a towel for anything heated. You will want it. Everything else — mats, props, weights — is here.
How early should I arrive?
Ten minutes before your first class so we can walk you through the space and set you up. Five minutes after that. Doors close at class start.
What's the difference between reformer and mat?
Reformer classes use the spring-loaded carriage — resistance comes from the machine, which makes it easier to load a movement precisely and easier to modify around an injury. Mat classes are bodyweight-driven, with props. They're not beginner and advanced versions of each other; most members do both.
Do I need to be flexible or already fit?
No. Every exercise scales, and the instructor's job is to find your version of it. Classes are capped at ten and eleven precisely so that's possible.
Booking & classes
How far ahead can I book?
Ten days out on every membership except the Summit Pass, which books fourteen. Packs, drop-ins and guest passes book seven days out.
What happens if a class is full?
Get on the waitlist. They move quickly — spots open up all the time, and we'll let you know as soon as one is yours. If that happens inside 12 hours of the class, you have 30 minutes to cancel free if it no longer works.
What if I cancel late?
Free up to 12 hours before class. Inside that it's a $25 late-cancel fee, and a no-show is $25 as well — except on packs and drop-ins, where a late cancel costs the $25 but returns your credit, and a no-show forfeits the credit entirely.
So cancelling always costs you less than not showing. That's deliberate. Classes here are small, and a spot nobody cancels is a spot somebody on the waitlist wanted.
Can I take more than one class a day?
One a day on the unlimited tiers — Reformer Unlimited, Mat Unlimited, and the Super Pass. The Summit Pass has no daily limit.
How many people are in a class?
Ten in the reformer room. Eleven in the mat room. That's the whole room, not a target.
Membership
Can I freeze my membership?
Yes — up to two months a year, free, in one-month blocks. Ask at least 5 days before your billing date. Your rate is held while you're away, founding rate included.
How do I cancel?
In your account, by email, or at the front desk — any time you like. There's no notice period and no fee. Your membership runs to the end of the month you've paid for and then stops.
The one thing to know: cancelling gives up a founding rate for good. If you're leaving for a season rather than for good, freeze instead — that holds it.
What is the founding rate, exactly?
Fifty spots at 25% off, held for as long as your membership stays continuously active. Not a first-year promotion, and not offered again once the fifty are gone. You're not charged until the day we open.
Upgrade to a higher tier and the discount comes with you. Downgrade or cancel and it's gone for good — that's the one thing to know before you move tiers. A freeze doesn't affect it. The Summit Pass is never discounted.
Does one membership cover everything?
Depends on the tier. Reformer and mat tiers cover their own room; the Super Pass and Summit Pass cover reformer, mat, strength, yoga and meditation together. You can move between tiers any time.
Can I bring a friend?
Summit Pass members get two guest passes a month, Super Pass members get one. They're good for reformer, mat, strength, yoga and meditation — not sound bowls or specialty events — and they expire at month end rather than banking up.
On any other tier, your guest books a drop-in and gets the same spot in the room you do.
Do class packs expire?
Yes. A 3-pack lasts 30 days, a 5-pack 60 days, a 10-pack 120 days, from the day you buy it. If you're not sure you'll use ten classes in four months, buy the five.
The studio
Where are you, and where do I park?
204 Basalt Center Circle, Unit A. Parking is the easy part — the plaza lot is large, and there's street and city parking on top of it. You won't circle the block before a 6:30am class.
Is the mat room heated?
On demand. We heat it with infrared for the classes that call for it, and the schedule tells you which ones. Heated and non-heated run in the same room on different days.
Are there showers and changing rooms?
Two bathrooms and one shower. Enough to rinse off and change before work, not a locker room — if you're heading somewhere straight after a busy evening class, give yourself a few extra minutes.
What's the Summit Café?
The room people stay in after class. Coffee, the Summit Shake, outdoor seating. It's a community space, not a grab-and-go counter — that's the point of it.
I just moved here. Does the altitude matter?
More than most people expect. We're at roughly 6,600 feet, the air is dry, and you lose fluid faster without noticing. Drink more than usual for your first week or two, take the heated classes slowly at first, and step out if you feel off. Nobody will think anything of it.
Injuries & pregnancy
I have an injury. Can I still take class?
Usually, and reformer work in particular is easy to modify. Tell us at intake and tell your instructor before class. If you're under a physician's or physical therapist's care, get their clearance first — our instructors are teachers, not clinicians.
I'm pregnant. What changes?
Let us know as soon as you're comfortable telling us, and complete the Prenatal Addendum. Heated classes aren't available during pregnancy. Everything else gets modified with you.
Do you offer private sessions?
Yes — one to one, or as a duet, triplet or quad if you'd rather train with people you know. Packs bring the per-session rate down.
We also teach in your home: reformer if you have the equipment, mat if you don't. Email us and we'll match you with an instructor.
